The Need

In 1992, the Florida legislation, in an attempt to curtail these acts of violence and make the convenience store a safer place to work, passed what is known as the Florida Convenience Business Security Act, which became effective December 31, 1992.

The Act established minimum security standards for the operation of convenience businesses. The Attorney General's Office is responsible for the enforcement and training is provided on how to conduct convenience store inspections; security standards and devices required by law; and to provide a model Robbery Deterrence and Safety Training Program.

The State of Florida requires that convenience store employees complete state approved training in robbery prevention and security.  Online training provided through this website satisfies this requirement. 

How to Receive Training and Certification

Choose the GO! button and register.  After registering and receiving notice of your activation, you are able to access the training. After passing the online quiz you will be sent a "Certificate of Completion." Display this certificate at your facility as proof of training completion.
